Dr. Ekle has enjoyed his life competing in baseball, wrestling, mixed martial arts, and backcountry snowboarding. His inspiration for JADED began as a young boy. Dr. Ekle was raised by his mother who has battled most of her life spent on long-term disability and narcotic pain medication. She was diagnosed early on with Multiple Sclerosis and chronic neck pain and underwent multiple cervical fusion surgeries. Jade was raised without health insurance and spent most of his childhood with the emergency room as his only access to medical care. Dr. Ekle also has plenty of personal experience with injury. Before the age of 30, Jade has had the misadventure of 4 broken ankles, a dislocated hip, a fractured low back, a torn ACL and MCL in his knee, a broken wrist, multiple shoulder dislocations, a torn rotator cuff an glenoid labrum, and enough concussions to not remember how many. Dr. Ekle has utilized these experiences to enhance his philosophies of treatment and his mission at JADED. There is no question of Dr. Ekle's motivation, inspiration and vision of bringing his elite medical expertise home to real local Alaskan people with a touch of prestige inspired by the rich and famous of Aspen.

Eric and his wife, Ashley, fell in love with Alaska as soon as they got here, and were excited to put down roots in this beautiful state. When he isn’t treating patients, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, hiking, riding his motorcycle, as well as his newest hobby, gardening. He will continue to serve our country in the US Army Reserves. He personally believes that many of the aches and pains we experience in life can be alleviated through detailed education about the cause of the pain, the right mindset, and a little bit of teamwork.
